There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

I really like the internet as a source of information. I subscribe to various podcasts and there is just a wealth of information out there. I can read reviews of books that discuss topics of interest to me before I purchase them; two recent ones are 'Layers' by Matt Kloskowski and 'Photoshop CS3' by David Blanter. I am very happy with both purchases as they teach in a way that I can relate to and understand. Also I do like the Michael Freeman books that can be found at B2S. The three authors that I mentioned get right to the point and do not waste words or pages of words on unnecessary verbiage. I can only speak for myself but I have a certain way that I like to learn so it is important to me to get the information from the folks who can convey this information in the style that works best for me.

Best of luck in your pursuit of knowledge.

PS: There is also a lot to be gained from reading the posts on this forum; I won't mention any names because I don't want to slight anyone that I inadvertently left out; but many of the members here have very good information and are generous enough to share it. Take a look.

Yep, cant beat the internet

If you have some money to throw at this, then subscribing to www.kelbytraining.com isnt a bad idea as it has many Photography and Photoshop tutorials online.

I found these useful free sites as well:
- www.luminouslandscape.com for general photography and processing advice
- www.strobist.com for learning about flash photography (look for lighting 101)
- www.dpreview.com and trawling their forum for hints and tips

If there is one book I would recommend its "Exposure" by Bryan Peterson
