I don't know about Chiang Mai, but all of those lenses (possibly except the Nikkor) are available in Bangkok. The guys at AV camera (http://avcamera.com/) are friendly, and might be willing to send by EMS if you pay in beforehand.

Apparently, the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 is extremely sharp, even at f/2.8, and much sharper that the 12-24, which is not a bad lens. It's an ideal combination with the Tamron 17-50mm, which is also sharp. If you don't like to change lenses, the solution is called: Two bodies   Grin  Yeah, yeah, I know, it's a hassle to carry two bodies, but if you don't want to compromise on quality....

Many people seem to be happy with the Sigma, but it has some strange distortions and a very slow max aperture. I never liked it, but then I don't like slow lenses in general. If God had meant us to use slow lenses, he would have made the D700 much cheaper   Roll Eyes

Thanks, seems they still have a 12-24 tokina at fotofile in Bkk, going to get that.
Have tried the 11-16 and it's a great lens but I need the extra mm and can't afford another body.
Not too worried about the F4, will be using it on tripod only and approx at f/9-11most of the time.

Just ordered a 50D through Photobug here in Chiang Mai. I guess that fotofile is the sister store to photobug and they were able to order the camera from photofile with no extra charge to me. Just thought if you were looking for a lens from fotofile in Bangkok, photobug in Chaing Mai might be able to help you with the order and save you some cost and hassle in the process.

Just wanted to add what excellent service I received in PhotoBug (Chaiyabhumi store). The price matched FotoFile (BKK) on a Canon G10 for me, and were accomodating of me wanting to check that the camera wasn't one of those affected by these problems: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=PgComSmModDisplayAct&fcategoryid=222&modelid=17624&keycode=2112&id=57370

Highly recommended  :)
