There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Hi All,

Attached are a couple of images I shot recently late last year in Nan province.

Hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if you like.

Best regards,

The boys were standing in a doorway which contained a dark room behind them. So naturally the background came out black becaese there was no light illuminating in the room.

Hope this helps.

For travel photography on-location I normally only use a silver reflector for a bit of fill light. I do use 550 flashes off the camera, but only for commercial applications normally. I hope this helps.

Best wishes.

Nice photos Marc, I always wanted to have a chance to shoot this kind of setting but I guess you'll never find it in Bangkok. Also, you have to be in the right place and the right time to have photos like these, thus making it unique. Keep posting similar shots and I am sure a lot of your members will be happy to look at it. Jingle52648

Thank you for the kind words. Yes, only upcountry can you find settings like this and still not always so easily. Often the scenes need a bit prodding to get them just right since Thailand is developing so rapidly. There are hardly any water buffaloes left anywhere in Thailand doing work in the fields anymore as an example. From what I hear Loas still has a lot of more natural looking settings and probably still looks more like Thailand did 25 years ago.
