I have a friend that is coming to town in May or so and is interested in throwing together a nude photo shoot. I think this time around he would be particularly interested in doing an out door shoot perhaps by a waterfall or at a pool. Though doing it at a studio may prove easier. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on where to hire models in Chiang Mai that would be willing to do nude work (classy artistic work of course), where there is a studio that is available for rent, where there is a private pool that is secluded and could be rented out for a few hours, etc. Any info you have on doing this kind of shoot would be greatly appreciated as this kind of shoot would be completely new to me.

Also I was wondering about the legality of doing a full nude shoot, I don't think he is interested in doing a lingerie shoot he prefers artistic nudes. I would love to provide him with a great shoot but I don't want to get him in trouble either.

Any help at all, or any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think he'd have to marry a Thai lady first, and even then she probably wouldn't say 'yes'

It just occurred me - how do know they want to photograph a lady? Sorry I could not resist, I am sure when Ryan posted this he knew we would all go off on a tangent! Guaranteed.

I didn't really want to jump in on this topic, but I did want to reaffirm the need to take caution and, as someone already said, it may be illegal in some ways to do what you are planning. So bear that in mind and be careful that whatever you do doesn't put you in any sort of a compromising situation legally.

It just occurred me - how do know they want to photograph a lady?

I feel guilty for using the the term "lady" - I was actually referring to women - i.e. they might want to photograph men

Being a Buddhist country I have to say that something like this would be considered very disrespectful and not at all welcomed by any province in Thailand. One of the beautiful things about Thailand is the conservative attitude and nature of the people.  Others have already said it; so for my money it is not a good idea.

I'm shooting in Thailand for 20 years and I'm shooting a lot of nude here, but none of them is Thai models.
For many reasons,in addition already mentioned, it very difficult to find good local models for nude photoshoot

Thank you for everyone's input and sharing your personal experiences on this subject. I try not to interfere with topics of discussion on this Forum, but I have decided to lock this thread and remove some of the posts that were made on this subject.

I feel the general discussion on this subject has encompassed an area of photography which could have some legal considerations and thus, I don't think it is good for people to give advice to one another on this subject.
