I am currently considering whether to take my Nikon D200 to Thailand including the vertical grip or not?

My considerations are as follows:

- the camera feels much nicer with the vertical grip, easier to hold and I am more used to it.
- more battery life as two batteries can be included in the camera and those who own or owned D200 know how important it is.

The negative side of course is the bulk and weight when travel.

So do you include the vertical grip when you travel or leave it at home (provided you can separate it from the body)?

Thanks
Alex

Bring it, will save you changing batteries as often. If it gets in the way small enough to leave w/the rest of your things while you are out shooting. Also remember to most people the bigger the camera the more threatening and perhaps professional.

LOL, thanks David. I am inclined to bring it too as the battery life is a big issue for D200.

Thanks
