The rumour has been there since Sony launched the 24MP sensor. The question has been who will launch the camera first: Nikon or Sony, and to what price. My guess is that at least the Sony will be under $6,000, and possibly under 5. Their good lenses are expensive though.

New rumour: D90 out in May. Sounds logical. Same interval as the D200/D80. With the D300 sensor, probably tweaked even more for high-ISO performance, that will be a killer camera. I can hardly wait  :)

The market is pushing on pro SLR, so no big surprise really if Nikon is working on a new super-megapixels monster.
