There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Does anyone here have experience with getting permission to shoot on location here in BKK.  More specifically, does anyone know the proper way to go about trying to get permission to shoot in a store/boutique.  I have seen numerous people doing it here but am unsure as to whether I need to get some permit from the press corps or whether I should just try talking to the store managers.  I am equally clueless about fees which I might be expected to offer for using their store.  This is for testing so I dont have a publisher or any official sort of organization to help me out on this.  Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
 Thanks,

What type of a shop do you want to shoot in and what is the purpose? Is there any possible exposure benefit for the shop? If it is just for portfolio purposes you may offer the owner some free pictures they may use for PR purposes such that it is a win/win for all parties.

Basically I would suggest trying to come up with something you can offer as an added value from taking photos. Then it just comes down to the individual owner and how easy or difficult they are to communicate with.

I also would not set my sites on only one location. This way you increase your chances of finding a store owner that will be game. Hope this helps.
