There must be places to buy studio lighting in Bangkok. I've asked many many Thai locals to no avail. Had a hard time explaining it to people at photo shops. One told me to go to Big C. hahaha.
Anybody know where I can buy some studio lighting? And a gray card?
Thanks

Thanks Marc. Unfortunately I can't access that page. Just get this message: The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.
Any idea why?

Yes, sorry, you need to make 10 posts to the Forum before it will give you access to the information about photography equipment suppliers in Thailand within the list section. The idea is to encourage people to join the Forum for the purpose of interacting and contributing something to the community rather than just coming to gather information.

Try FotoFile- 3rd floor MBK and another shop on the 3rd or 4th floor at Fortune. They display studio lighting right in front of their shop so you cannot miss it. There is a small coffee kiosk right in front of the shop.

Right, I see. I suppose that makes sense. I wonder if you gain more users or lose more users that way. Hopefully the former.

Awesome. I'll try that out. I actually think I been to a shop called FotoFile on the first floor of MBK and it was so small. I'll keep checking for other suggestions and post back after I check it out. I wonder if I should bring a Thai person to translate. We all know how important details can be really hard to get clear in these situations.

Ask for Cobb at FotoFile MBK third floor. He speaks English and is knowledgeable.
The shop at Fortune is actually on the second floor and the owner speaks English and is pleasant to deal with.

Thanks so much Dave. I haven't had a chance to get down there yet, but I'm going to do exactly as you suggested.

The shop at Fortune (I think it call "CAPA Camera" I can't remember exactly) I bought twice times. Some part quite low cost such as studio lighting tripod they made by themself.

This company has a large showroom of studio lighting equipment... http://www.ekasilp.com/I purchased some backgrounds from them last year. They are located on Petchkasem Road in Bangkok. -Jeff

Hey guys. Old post but thought I'd follow up.
I checked out fotofile in MBK. They only had like 2 different lights as far as they told me. No product literature and seem interested in informing me verbally.
Haven't checked Capa at Fortune. But it sounds good and I probably will soon.
the ekasilp link posted by jgarnold looks really good. I have no idea where that is located but I'm gonna have to check it out.
I found one on Soi Convent near Sala Daeng Station. Really helpful guy there and lots of options. I think it is called Kiti blah blah blah. Kinda looks like a photocopy shop from the outside so I almost missed it.
I'll try to follow up on this for others who may be interested. Thanks a lot guys.
